Windows 11 may be getting 3D emojis after all
Back in October 2021, Microsoft revealed that it wasn’t actually bringing 3D emojis to Windows 11. Consider that official Microsoft accounts have been using special designs of emojis to educate the public about its latest operating system, hinting that they will be available for Windows 11. The Redmond tech giant later said this was all a marketing misstep and that Windows 11 was being upgraded with new emojis that would be flat rather than 3D. The operating system received Fluent 2D emojis via an optional update in November.
Now it looks like 3D emojis might be coming to Windows 11 after all. This specific information comes from Microsoft design lead Nando Costa (via The Verge) in response to people who want 3D emojis to come to Windows 11:
