Microsoft is apparently working on a new app called "Designer" for Windows 11, and multiple images of a preview version of the app have leaked. Prolific Windows leaker and Twitter user WalkingCat, who also recently shared the alleged RTM date for Windows 11 22H2, discovered it.
A screenshot of the new Designer Preview app is below:
Microsoft has previously used the term designer to refer to products. For those who don't quite remember or aren't familiar with it, the Redmond company introduced the Designer feature in PowerPoint back in 2015, which got a major feature upgrade a year later.
It's hard to tell whether Designer is an upgraded version of PowerPoint's functionality, as details are currently sparse. The upcoming app may be related to something else entirely, as there are a few other suspects that share aspects with the new Designer app.
For example, Microsoft’s Publisher hasn’t had any major UI updates in a long time and is long overdue for an overhaul. Designer can also be upgraded to another older Office application called Sway.
Designer may also be Microsoft’s in-house solution and a competitor to Canva, a popular design tool available on Windows.
