Back in 2020, the Canadian company won an $85 million lawsuit against Apple over two patents. The patent dispute involves wireless technology that allows iPhone users to make calls and download data simultaneously.

Just last month, Apple won in a U.S. appeals court, reversing its WiLAN victory. The achievement comes after the Cupertino company claimed there were problems with WiLAN's expert testimony. This isn't Apple's first appeal, as the court also overturned a $145 million win for WiLAN in 2018.

Apple even sued WiLAN as early as 2014, claiming that the iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 did not infringe WiLAN patents. The patents relate to using LTE technology to allocate bandwidth in wireless networks. The article also noted that the agreement resolves all court cases between WiLAN, its subsidiary Polaris and Apple in the United States, Canada and Germany. Neither Apple nor WiLAN commented on the new agreement.
