After launching the volume mixer experience in Quick Settings, Microsoft is now looking to enhance it further by introducing "more mixer settings" that will give users more control over their app audio.

The launch of Dev Build 25309 is very exciting as it reveals a ton of features from Microsoft, including automatic color management, theme-aware widgets, and more. Still, of the details mentioned in this release, the most notable is the new volume mixer experience in Quick Settings, which allows for audio customization on a per-app basis. The feature was very simple at the time, but Microsoft improved it in the first Canary Channel version, Build 25314.

Canary Build 25314, a continuation of Microsoft's work on the volume mixer, now features more mixer settings and will provide users with more audio control options. However, while the enhanced mixer is an attractive feature for Insiders in the Canary channel, Microsoft notes that the version released there is less stable than the version in the Dev channel.

Microsoft explains: "The builds that will be sent to Canary Channel will be 'heat pressed' and flown very soon after they are built, meaning that a lot of time will be spent before they are made available to Insiders. "These builds may contain significant issues that may prevent you from using your PC correctly or even require you to reinstall Windows in rare cases."

Just recently, some Insiders report encountering issues with the new volume mixer, including the Windows key Ctrl V shortcut not working and strange "mute" behavior. Expect more issues like this to arise as the feature continues to roll out.
