Method 1 – Exiting from Windows S Mode
1. Use the Windows I key combination to open Windows Settingsapp.
2. After selecting the System tab in the left pane, click activate in the right pane.
3. On this Activation page you will see Switch to Windows 11/10 Home or Professional depending on your version Version.
In this section, click the link Go to the Microsoft Store.
4. In the Switch Out of S mode pop-up window, click the Get button.
Then, click Install.
Finally, click Yes and let's go to to confirm the installation process and exit S mode.
Note: If you see any errors saying the upgrade cannot be performed after clicking Install, please perform Windows Update, restart your computer and try the above steps again.
5. Once the installation process is completed, you will be able to install the program from outside the Microsoft Store and the error will be resolved.
Method 2 – Allow Windows to install applications from anywhere
1. Press Windows X to open the context menu of the Start button.
In the menu that opens, select Apps and Features at the top.
2. On the Apps and Features page, use the drop-down menu and select any location option from the list.
