If you’re just a daily Edge user, you might not know this, but Microsoft Edge Canary Insiders received an update that introduces a much-requested feature.
We know there are many other requirements to meet, but this latest software brings one of the most popular accessibility features, which is double-clicking to close a tab.
It took the Redmond company a long time, but after a long wait, the feature is finally available, albeit only in the Canary channel for now.
As Canary Insiders discovered, the above option that allows us to close tabs with a double-click is available in the accessibility settings.
Keep in mind that it will be disabled by default, so you will need to navigate to Edge settings, select the Accessibility tab and turn on the Close browser tabs with double-click option.
After doing this, you can instantly get rid of any open tab by simply double-clicking it with the left mouse button.
We remind you that you can also use other shortcut keys to close the web page, such as the middle mouse button or the Ctrl W shortcut key.
Now that we know you'll enjoy testing this latest feature already, remember you're still on the Canary channel, which means only a limited number of Insiders can close tabs using a double-click.
But you don’t have to worry as it will soon be available to all Insiders and eventually to the Stable Release Channel when it is deemed ready
