New malware infects PCs via fake Windows 11 download page

It also targets a large number of browsers and crypto wallets. Inno Stealer targeted 35 web browsers and 39 crypto wallets.

The page displays a "Download Now" button, which would invite an unsuspecting person to click. When the person uses the button, the page will download and install a malicious EXE file to the PC. This malware in this campaign can be tricky as it can evade Defender's protection and security and even uninstall security products and perform other tactics to get into a person's machine.

After successfully infiltrating a PC, Inno Stealer will obtain web browser data, saved credentials, and cryptocurrency wallet data. This is where things get worse, because it hurts you more in every way.

Inno Stealer is not the first malware to infect machines via a fake Windows 11 download page, and there may be more malware trying the same tactic in the future.
