Fix 1 – Update Camera Driver

Please follow the steps below to update the camera driver.

Step 1: Press the Windows key and type Device Manager on your keyboard.

Step 2: Select the Device Manager application from the search results as shown in the screenshot below.

Step 3: Once the Device Manager window opens, double-click the "Camera" option in the device list to expand it.

Step 4: Then right click on Integrated Camera under the Camera option and click on Update# from the context menu ##Driver" as shown below.

Step 5: Now click on the

Automatically search for drivers option in the pop-up window as shown below.

Step 6: This will check online for the latest camera driver and start updating it.

Step 7: After the update is complete, close Device Manager.

Fix 2 – Check if Facial Recognition (Windows Hello) is installed

In order for Windows Hello to run smoothly, it requires an optional feature called Facial Recognition (Windows Hello) to be installed on the system Function. If it is not installed, select it and install it.

Step 1: Press the

Windows key on your keyboard and type Optional Features.

Step 2: Select

View functions in the Add optional features section at the top of the page, as follows As shown in the figure.

Step 5: In the

Add an optional feature window, enter hello in the search bar and click Facial Recognition (WindowsHello) checkbox and click Next to continue.

Step 6: You need to make sure that the

Face Recognition feature is selected and then click Install.

Step 7: This will start installing the feature and once completed, it will appear on the page under the Installed Features section.

Step 8: Restart the system for the changes to take effect.

Fix 3 – Restart the Windows Biometric Service on the system

The Windows Biometric Service is mainly responsible for all types of biometric tasks on the system. If you stop this service, it can cause the problems mentioned in this article. So, let’s restart the Windows Biometric service and refresh the biometric database by clearing it.

Step 1: Press the Windows

and R keys simultaneously to open the Run Command box.

Step 2: Type

services.msc in the Run box, and then press the Enter key.

Step 3: When the Services application window appears on the system, locate the Windows Biometric Service from the list of services.

Step 4: Right-click WindowsBiometric Services and select the Restart option from the context menu.

Step 5: After restarting, you need to press the Windows and E keys simultaneouslyTo open File Explorer.

Step 6: Type C:\Windows\System32\WinBioDatabase in the address bar of File Explorer and press the Enter key.

Step 7: In the WinBioDatabse folder, clear all files by deleting them.

Step 8: After cleaning, close this folder.

Step 9: Now press the Windows key and type Login Options on your keyboard.

Step 10: Then select the login option System Settings from the resulting page as shown in the screenshot below.

Step 11: On the Login page, click Face Recognition (Windows Hello)Options Expand it and click Settings.

Step 12: Next, follow the on-screen instructions to set up new facial recognition data on your system.

Step 13: Once completed, reboot the system and see if it works.

Fix 4 – Perform a System File Checker scan for corrupted files

When corrupted system files are present in the system, it can create many types of problems, including the ones discussed above in this article . Therefore, we recommend our users to perform a System File Checker scan on the system and fix all corrupted system files using the steps explained below.

Step 1: Press the Windows and R keys simultaneously to open the Run box.

Step 2: Type cmd and press the Ctrl Shift Enter keys simultaneously on the keyboard.

Note – You may have to accept the on-screen prompt UAC to continue.

Step 3: After opening the command prompt window as administrator, type sfc /scannow in the command prompt and press Enter key.

Step 4: Then it starts checking for corrupted files and tries to repair them.

Step 5: Once completed, you need to execute the following command using the DISM tool to restore the health of the system.

DISM /在线 /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Step 6: Once completed, close the command prompt and restart the system.

Fix 5 – Try Get Help Using Get Help App

Fix 6 – Installing files in FaceDriver

There are some files in the system’s FaceDriver folder that need to be installed on the system. But when they are not installed, it throws issues like facial recognition issues.

Here are the steps on how to install files in the FaceDriver folder.

Step 1: Press the Windows and E keys simultaneously to open File Explorer.

Step 2: Type the following path into the address bar and press Enter.

C:\Windows\System32\WinBioPlugIns\FaceDriver

Step 3: Once you reach the FaceDriver folder, right click on the HelloFacesettings file and select it from the context menu Click Install as shown below.

Step 4: Once completed, you can restart the system and see if it works.
