PHP one-dimensional array removes key

In PHP language, array is an extremely important data structure. We can store and process a series of data through arrays. Arrays in PHP support two types: index arrays and associative arrays. The key names of index arrays are automatically assigned numeric indexes, while the key names of associative arrays are user-defined string type keys.

For a one-dimensional array, if we want to remove the key names in the array and only retain the values, we can use the following method.

Method 1: Use array_values()

array_values() function returns a new array containing all key values in the array. In other words, it can remove the key names in the array and keep only the key values. The following is an example of using the array_values() function:

<?php
$array = array("a" => "red", "b" => "green", "c" => "blue");
$new_array = array_values($array);
print_r($new_array);
?>
Copy after login

In the above code, $array is an associative array containing three key-value pairs. Use the array_values() function to convert the $array array into an indexed array of three elements, where the keys will be ignored. The final output is as follows:

Array
(
    [0] => red
    [1] => green
    [2] => blue
)
Copy after login
Copy after login

Method 2: Use foreach loop

In addition to using array_values(), we can also use a foreach loop to traverse the array and add the key name of each element Discard, keeping only its key value. The following is an example of a foreach loop:

<?php
$array = array("a" => "red", "b" => "green", "c" => "blue");
$new_array = array();
foreach($array as $value) {
    $new_array[] = $value;
}
print_r($new_array);
?>
Copy after login

In the above code, we first create an empty array $new_array. Then use a foreach loop to iterate through the original array $array and add the value of each element to the end of the $new_array array. Since we only retain the value of each element during the traversal process and omit the key name, the final output result is a new array containing only the value. The execution results are as follows:

Array
(
    [0] => red
    [1] => green
    [2] => blue
)
Copy after login
Copy after login

Summary

No matter which method, we can simply convert an array with key names into an array without key names. In practical applications, we can choose one of the methods according to our needs, or use different methods to process different types of arrays.

The above is an introduction to the two methods of removing keys from one-dimensional arrays in PHP. I hope it will be helpful to PHP enthusiasts.
