Microsoft released new Windows 11 build 22538 to Insiders on the Dev channel. This version fixes Explorer crash issues, taskbar date and time issues, and more.
Some interesting stuff found in new version 22538. Apparently, now when you shrink the taskbar, the date and time portion is no longer cut off like it was in some previous versions. The website provides comparative images of three different scenarios.
The first (top) image is of the narrow taskbar in the release version of Windows 11, with the date and time portions noticeably cut off. The second image is under normal taskbar view (not narrow) in Build 22538, where the date and time are displayed normally. The third and final image (at the bottom) is also under Windows 11 build 22538, where the date and time are not truncated despite using a narrow taskbar.
This may indicate that Microsoft is tinkering with the taskbar internally, and may herald further changes so that we no longer need to use registry editing to resize the taskbar, which may be the future A feature. Microsoft has fixed a similar issue with Build 22463.
New Build 22538 also reveals a new hidden gem closely related to the taskbar. Microsoft appears to be working on a redesigned Task Manager.
