Microsoft brings Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) to the Microsoft Store on Windows 11 in preview status. For those who don’t know, WSL is a very useful feature that Microsoft added to Windows 10 in 2017. It enables developers to run GNU/Linux environments directly in Windows without the need for a virtual machine (VM) or dual-boot configuration. Today, the company has made WSL generally available in the Microsoft Store for Windows 10 and Windows 11.

适用于 Linux 的 Windows 子系统现已在 Microsoft Store 全面上市

With the release of WSL version 1.0.0, Microsoft has dropped the "Preview" tag. Additionally, it makes this variant of WSL the default experience for users running the wsl --install or wsl --update commands.

Microsoft touts several advantages of installing the WSL Store version. These include faster updates, better error printing, WSLg and WSL in a single package, the ability to opt-in systemd support, and more.

Some other improvements introduced by backporting the Microsoft Store version of WSL to Windows 10 and making it the default experience on both operating systems include:

  • wsl.exe --installThe store version of WSL will now be automatically installed and the "Windows Subsystem for Linux" optional component will no longer be enabled or WSL kernel or WSLg MSI packages no longer required will be installed (The virtual machine platform optional components will still be enabled and Ubuntu will still be installed by default).
  • wsl.exe –install` Now also includes:
    • --inboxUse optional Windows components instead of using the Microsoft Store to install WSL
    • --enable-wsl1Enable WSL 1 during Microsoft Store installation Supported versions by also enabling the "Windows Subsystem for Linux" optional component
    • --no-distributionDo not install the distribution version when installing WSL
    • --no-launchDo not automatically launch the distribution version after installation
    • --web-download Download the latest version of WSL from the Internet instead of the Microsoft Store.
  • wsl.exe --Update Updates for the WSL MSIX package will now be checked and applied from the Microsoft Store, Instead of updating the WSL kernel MSI
  • When running WSL with a Windows optional component version, once a week we will display a message at startup indicating that you can update the WSL kernel by running wsl --update Upgrade to the store version.

There is a known issue in the Microsoft Store despite the release: WSL may not start if you are running in a "session 0" session.

Currently, this new experience in the WSL is only available to seekers, but it will automatically roll out to everyone by mid-December. The crawler process involves checking for Windows updates and then installing KB5020030 (if you are using Windows 10) or KB5019157 (if you are using Windows 11). You can then run the wsl --install (new users) or wsl --update (existing users) command to get the Microsoft Store to manually install the latest version from GitHub. WSL version. Alternatively, you can

It is important to understand that if you are running a WSL 1 distribution, you will still need to manually install the Windows Subsystem for Linux optional component. What's more, the built-in Windows version of WSL will only get critical bug fixes in the future, and new features will be exclusive to the Microsoft Store version.

You can download Windows Subsystem for Linux from the Microsoft Store here.

Zabbix's support for Chinese is not very good, but sometimes we still choose Chinese for management purposes. In the web interface monitored by Zabbix, the Chinese under the graphic icon will display small squares. This is incorrect and requires downloading fonts. For example, "Microsoft Yahei", "Microsoft Yahei.ttf" is named "msyh.ttf", upload the downloaded font to /zabbix/fonts/fonts and modify the two characters in the /zabbix/include/defines.inc.php file at define('ZBX_GRAPH_FONT_NAME','DejaVuSans');define('ZBX_FONT_NAME'
