Snapshot groups are not a new concept introduced in Windows 11, they have been part of previous versions of Windows. Using Snapshot Groups, you can create a Snapshot layout by opening multiple programs, then pulling one program to the front and moving it to the right or left side of the screen to align it with the rest of the open windows. You can run applications side-by-side, change window sizes, or hover over the maximize button to access existing snapshot layouts, including window layouts grouped in a four-square grid. Microsoft is experimenting with a new way to snap windows to snap layouts, and it also supports mouse and touch, just like other snapping features.
