What is the taskbar overflow menu?

Microsoft has reintroduced a new taskbar overflow experience in Windows 11. When an application icon takes up the maximum space on the taskbar, a menu with a 3-dot icon automatically appears.

Simply put, when the taskbar has no space to display application icons, it will place them in the three-dot icon "Taskbar Overflow Menu", which you can use to switch and open applications.
