Microsoft has released a new version of Windows 10 for Insiders on the Windows 10 Release Preview channel. The new version adds improvements related to Secure Boot, fixes operating system startup delays, and more.
You can check out the long list of changes below:
- New! We have added improvements to the Secure Boot component of Servicing Windows.
- We are changing the timeout for Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) registrations from 60 minutes to 90 minutes for Autopilot scenarios with hybrid Azure AD join. This also resolves a race condition that caused exceptions on timeout.
- We fixed an issue that caused a Remote Desktop session to stop responding when closing or reconnecting while waiting for the accessibility shortcut handler ( sethc.exe ).
- We fixed an issue that delayed operating system startup by approximately 40 minutes.
- We fixed an issue where execution policy settings were incorrectly returned from the registry.
- We fixed an issue that caused Internet Explorer to stop working when you copy and paste text using the Input Method Editor (IME).
- We fixed an issue that caused a black screen to appear when logging in or out for some users.
- We fixed an issue that caused Kerberos authentication to fail with error "0xc0030009 (RPC_NT_NULL_REF_POINTER)". This occurs when a client computer attempts to connect to another computer using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) when Remote Credential Protection is enabled.
- We fixed an issue that prevented you from changing an expired password when you signed in to a Windows device.
- We fixed an issue that could cause Windows to stop working when you apply a Windows Defender Application Control (WDAC) policy that doesn't require a restart.
- We fixed an issue where the security portion of Group Policy might not be copied to the computer.
- We fixed an issue that caused the Key Distribution Center (KDC) code to incorrectly return the error message "KDC_ERR_TGT_REVOKED" during a domain controller shutdown.
- We fixed an issue that could prevent graphics processing unit (GPU) load balancing on remote desktops from working as expected.
- We fixed an issue that prevented instantiation of the Microsoft RDP Client Control, version 11 and later, in the Microsoft Internal Foundation Classes (MFC) dialog box.
- We fixed an issue that could cause a Microsoft OneDrive file to lose focus after renaming and pressing the Enter key.
- We fixed an issue that caused the News and Interests panel to appear when you weren't clicking, tapping, or hovering.
- We fixed an issue that prevented the Shift KeyUp event from being delivered to the application when you were using the Korean IME.
- We fixed an issue that could occur when listing or modifying name suffix routes using Netdom.exe or the Active Directory Domains and Trusts snap-in. These processes may fail. The error message is "Insufficient system resources to complete the requested service." This issue occurs after installing the January 2022 security update on the Primary Domain Controller Emulator (PDCe).
- We fixed an issue where the wrong IME mode indicator was displayed when font mitigation policies were enabled.
- We fixed an issue that caused the primary domain controller (PDC) of the root domain to generate warning and error events in the system log. This issue occurs when the PDC incorrectly attempts to scan outgoing trusts only.
- We fixed an issue that affected Server Message Block (SMB) multi-channel connections and could generate a 13A or C2 error.
- We fixed an issue when mapping a network drive to a Server Message Block Version 1 (SMBv1) share. After restarting the operating system, you will no longer be able to access the network drive.
- We fixed an issue that caused Virtual Computer Object (VCO) password setting to fail on distributed network name resources.
- We fixed an issue that corrupted the pool when the Client Side Cache (CSC) cleanup method failed to delete a resource that had been created.
- We fixed an issue that could cause the server to lock up as the non-paged pool grows and uses up all memory. After restarting, the same problem occurs again when you try to repair the damage.
- We reduce resource contention overhead in high input/output operations per second (IOPS) scenarios where many threads compete on a single file.
