Microsoft released a new Windows 11 Insider build this week with several key changes to the operating system. One of the changes moves subscription management for Microsoft 365 services to the top of the Account page.

When you now open the Accounts page on a Windows 11 computer that is not yet part of the Insider program, you will be given a list of options, including checking Linked Microsoft account. Windows 11 users can turn it on by selecting Start > Settings > Accounts. The option to check your subscription and other Microsoft account information is on the page under the "Your Microsoft Account" subsection.

Coming soon to all devices running Windows 11, subscription management information will be displayed when the main account page is opened. Windows 11 users see information under Settings > Accounts instead of Settings > Accounts > Your Microsoft Account.

Windows 11 displays subscription status if the user logs in to the system with a Microsoft account. The information is displayed at the top, and the rest of the account settings pages are listed below as before.

Free users get very little information from it, just information that they are using the free service and links to Office apps and OneDrive. An "Upgrade" link will appear prominently on the page.

Paid Microsoft 365 users can get more information on this page. Windows 11 lists subscription plans (such as Microsoft 365 Home) and billing information.

If the linked credit card has expired, Windows 11 will even notify the user: "Your credit card has expired. Update your payment information to keep your subscription."

This page lists the payment method and the amount that will be billed. Additional information and options for fixing expired payment methods are also available.
