Microsoft, which has deep knowledge and extensive expertise in cybersecurity, wants to expand its existing security services under a new category called "Microsoft Security Experts."

Microsoft Security Experts combines modern security technology with "human-led" services to help organizations protect their networks and minimize the risk and damage of cyberattacks. It empowers existing security teams and their partners, with the help of Microsoft, to meet each organization's unique needs and situations.

Microsoft Security Experts includes three new managed services to support existing security teams within organizations:

  • Microsoft Defender Experts for Huntingwill help owners Companies with existing security teams proactively “hunt” for potential threats. Microsoft experts and partners will use Microsoft Defense data, endpoints, Office 365, cloud applications and identities to detect potential threats. Organizations have the option to contact security experts with a single click and get specific advice on improving security. Microsoft Defender Experts for Hunting will launch this summer, and companies can sign up for a preview.
  • Microsoft Defender Experts for XDR (Extended Detection and Response) is a service for those who want to extend and strengthen their security operations center. XDR Defender Experts provide human expertise to work with existing security teams to respond to incidents.
  • Microsoft Enterprise Security Services is an expert-led service for protecting all cloud environments and platforms. Customers will have dedicated Microsoft security experts managing onboarding, day-to-day interactions, practice modernization and incident response.

Microsoft says its ultimate goal is to provide customers with world-class security products and critical human expertise from the best cybersecurity experts. The company wants to use industry-leading technology, Microsoft's best defenders and partner community, and the most comprehensive threat intelligence to build a safer world for everyone. Microsoft Security Experts is a big step in this direction.
