The new phishing feature is designed to protect users from phishing attacks by identifying when they enter their credentials in applications such as Notepad and malicious programs, and by displaying them in open applications or tabs. The pop-up window above the screen alerts the user.

So how does this work? In theory, Windows 11's smart screen saver works at the kernel level and is able to tell when you enter your password into any application. It can also detect passwords entered into forms on websites that attempt to copy the original website, such as Microsoft or Facebook.
