Apple The first dual USB-C power adapter on the way?

It's unclear when Apple plans to release this accessory, and it's possible it will be scrapped entirely. However, support documentation makes it clear that the accessory does exist:

Charge your device using the Apple 35W Dual USB-C Port Power Adapter and a USB-C cable (not included). Connect the USB-C cable to any port on the power adapter, extend the electrical prongs if necessary, and plug the power adapter securely into an electrical outlet. Make sure the electrical outlet is easy to disconnect for easy disconnection. Connect the other end of the cable to your device.

The file was deleted shortly after being posted. This will mark the first time Apple has released a dual USB-C charger of any kind. 35W is enough power to charge multiple iPhones, an iPhone and an Apple Watch, or a handful of other accessories combined.

For example, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is capable of fast charging at up to 27W. This means the dual USB-C wall adapter can quickly charge the iPhone 13 Pro Max, as well as other accessories like the Apple Watch. In fact, the Apple Watch Series 7 also has the ability to fast charge using any USB-C wall plug that offers 5W of power.

According to the document, the accessory will also support USB-C power delivery technology:

• Again, it’s unclear when (or if) Apple plans to release this accessory. We've heard multiple times that Apple is looking to expand its line of power adapters, especially those with GaN technology inside. This 35W dual USB-C port power adapter is likely to be Apple's first standalone GaN charger at launch, although Apple doesn't mention GaN technology in support documents.

For example, Digitimes reported last year that Apple was developing a new GaN (gallium nitride) charger with USB-C connectivity. A number of companies make GaN chargers that are smaller and faster than the USB-C chargers Apple includes in its MacBook line and sells them separately for its iPhones.

Adopting GaN technology could help Apple streamline its charging lineup and make it more versatile with dual-port designs, faster performance, and more. GaN chargers are also typically smaller than non-GaN chargers.

Another possibility is that Apple may release an updated version of this new dual USB-C port power adapter with the MagSafe Duo. Currently, the MagSafe Duo allows you to charge your iPhone and Apple Watch at the same time, but the Apple Watch charges more slowly than using a dedicated fast charger.

As you might expect, Apple does note in the support document that this dual USB-C port power adapter does not include a USB-C cable, so you'll have to provide your own.
