Windows 11 build 25115 Sun Valley 3 released to Dev channel with recommended actions

Microsoft has released a new Windows 11 Insider build 25115 to the Dev Channel. This marks the start of Sun Valley 3 development for Windows Insiders, which will eventually become a 2023 release. The company highlighted a few things about this release, first of all, it doesn't work on ARM64 PCs, and it only contains a new feature called "Recommended Actions."

Interestingly, the Audio Recorder preview version has also been moved from the Beta channel to this version, indicating that its new features may not be released with Windows 11 22H2. For those paying close attention, this build isn't too far removed from what Windows Server vNext build 25110 used for its kernel.

Here are the highlights of build 25115:

• This release will not be shipped to ARM64 PCs. We hope to have the new version available to Insiders on ARM64 PCs soon.

• We also have a nice set of general improvements and fixes in this version.
• We are now previewing the new audio recorder with Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel.

[Recommended Action]

• When copying a phone number, Windows will pop up an embedded, closeable, lightweight UI that suggests ways to dial the phone number using Teams or other installed applications that offer click-to-dial functionality.

Recommended actions are embedded after copying the phone number.

• When copying a date and/or time, Windows will pop up an inline closeable lightweight UI and it is recommended to use a supported calendar application to create the event. After the user selects a preference, the application launches with the corresponding calendar event creation page, automatically populating the date and/or time.

Copy the suggested action inline after the date or time.

• Update The underlying speech platform was developed to improve speech access, real-time subtitles and voice activity detection for speech input, and to address some issues with how punctuation is recognized.

• Fixed issue with loading system tray icon in Settings > Personalization > Taskbar A related issue that may have caused Settings to crash when opening this page recently. This issue may also cause some explorer.exe crashes for affected Insiders.

[File Manager]

• Fixed an issue that caused Insiders to see error 0x800703E6 when copying files from Google Drive.
• We've made another change to help improve the performance of loading the homepage.
• Fixed an issue that would cause explorer.exe to crash if you ever opened the context menu, did CTRL ALT DEL and canceled.
• Fixed an occasional explorer.exe crash when closing the File Explorer window.

[Settings]

• Fixed an issue that could lock explorer.exe in some cases if Settings was paused.
• Improved the way Narrator reads remaining space in System > Storage.

[Task Manager]

• Fixed a number of issues related to access key usage in Task Manager, including not releasing ALT first The ALT key cannot be pressed directly, and the access key cannot be displayed after using and turning off the access key.
• The CPU column header should no longer unexpectedly become unreadable in dark mode if the CPU reaches 100%.

[Windows Security]

• Fixed an issue that could cause Smart App Control to unexpectedly block properly signed apps.

[Live subtitles]

• Some full-screen apps (such as video players) prevent live subtitles from displaying.
• Certain applications located near the top of the screen and closed before running live captions will relaunch behind the live caption window located at the top. Use the system menu (ALT Spacebar) while the application has focus to move the application's window further down.
