Using workarounds like Switchbot to make regular things "smart" is an area I can really get behind. It allows you to replace your curtains in the future without having to worry about whether they are "smart" or whether your "smart pole" is compatible. It's a simple mechanical process that adds "intelligence" to existing products at a reasonable cost. Would I put them in every curtain in the house? Probably not, but if you have a home office or media room, this is a great way to upgrade your curtain opening and closing experience.
