After more than a month of testing period, Apple has officially made the latest macOS version available to all users. macOS 12.2 brings important security fixes to Safari, improved scrolling in Safari on the new MacBook Pro, and a new native Apple Music app.

苹果发布带有 Safari 安全补丁的 macOS 12.2,改进了 ProMotion 滚动

macOS 12.2 starts showing up to users via OTA. Go to System Preferences > Software Update to check if it works for your Mac. Apple has also released a new update for Big Sur for those still using macOS 11.6.3.

While macOS 12.2 doesn’t bring many changes, it does include a security fix for a critical Safari vulnerability as well as a number of other improvements and fixes.

The Safari exploit, first discovered earlier this month, can reveal a user's browsing history as well as their Google Account ID. This was first patched by Apple in iOS 15.3 and macOS 12.2 RC, as well as today's official builds.

Another fix for macOS 12.2 improves scrolling in Safari with ProMotion on the new MacBook Pro.

Starting with the first macOS 12.2 beta, there is a new native Apple Music app. As we mentioned before: Some parts of the

Music app are already native, such as the Music Library. But now Mac users will notice that searching for new songs in Apple Music is much faster because the results page is displayed in a native interface instead of a web page. With the beta app, scrolling between elements has also become smoother, and trackpad gestures are now more responsive.

Comparing the two apps side by side, the Beta Music app may look simpler and lacks some interface effects - this may be because Apple is rebuilding everything and the native version will take a while to restore all of that Visual effect.
