#Microsoft released two small updates to its Edge browser over the weekend. The company released another security update on Friday and today. While Friday's update fixed a security issue affecting the Edge browser, today's update addresses a security issue affecting all Chromium-based web browsers. Additionally, the update appears to resolve an issue that prevented PDF files from being printed when accessed through the Edge browser.

Edge 102.0.1245.41 on the stable release channel is marked as a maintenance update that fixes multiple vulnerabilities. Microsoft has not updated the release notes. However, the company has previously informed Chromium and Edge browsers of the following vulnerability:

  • Chromium: CVE-2022-2007 Use after free in WebGPU -- CVE-2022-2007
  • Chromium: CVE-2022-2008 Out of bounds memory access in WebGL - CVE-2022-2008
  • Chromium: CVE-2022-2010 Out of bounds read in composition - CVE-2022-2010
  • Chromium: CVE-2022-2011 Used after free in ANGLE -- CVE-2022-2011

The above security vulnerability affects all browsers based on the Chromium engine, including Google Chrome. Google confirmed that it patched these vulnerabilities in the Chromium browser on June 9, 2022. Some safety issues are rated "high." Neither Microsoft nor Google provided any details about the vulnerabilities.

In addition to security fixes, the latest update also resolves a bug with PDF printing. The problem has existed since Edge was updated to 102.0.1245.30. While it's not widespread, some network administrators claim that all PCs on the network are unable to print PDF files from newer browsers.
