While unwanted phone calls are a part of everyday life, your iPhone offers a few different options for silencing especially those who keep calling. Here's how to block or silence unwanted calls on iOS 15.

Blocking phone numbers can save you a lot of stress. Once blocked, you will not receive alerts for any calls from blocked numbers. Additionally, callers will be allowed to leave a voicemail, but you will not receive notification that a voicemail has been left.

  1. Open PhoneApp
  2. Scroll to the number you want to block
  3. Click the next to the number Messageicon
  4. Scroll down and tapBlock this caller
  5. TapBlock contact

You can also follow the same steps in the FaceTime app to block persistent FaceTime callers.

Blocked numbers will also not receive a message that they have been blocked, which can help save face if you need to block someone you know in real life.

If you find that you are receiving too many calls from unknown callers in general, you can also choose to mute all unknown numbers. This is especially useful for those days when you get too many telemarketing calls.

When this feature is enabled, all incoming calls from unknown numbers will be silenced and sent to your voicemail, and the phone number will appear in your recent calls list.
