Steam 平台现在支持 Windows 11

Valve has released two firmware updates for its recently launched portable gaming console, the Steam Deck. The first update available in the stable channel improves the software keyboard and adds input calibration. The second update, the beta, focuses on enhancing various low-level aspects of the console. Additionally, it adds fTPM support, effectively allowing Steam Deck users to install Windows 11.

Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is one of the Windows 11 hardware requirements that Microsoft doesn’t want you to bypass. While there are many ways to install Windows 11 on unsupported hardware and computers without a TPM, if you want to do things the "Microsoft way" and get support from the company, you have to use the Trusted Platform Module.

Valve warns that the preview update is raw and needs further improvement. Additionally, the Steam Deck's Windows driver has various bugs (the audio driver doesn't work at all). Currently, installing Windows 11 on the Steam platform looks more like a leap of faith than a viable solution for day-to-day use.

Here are the changes in the latest Steam Deck OS Beta update:

  • Added message when a charger that does not meet minimum standards is plugged in.
  • Added uncapped frame rate setting in Quick Access Menu > Performance.
  • Added fTPM support for Windows 11 installation.
  • Add button combination: Hold "..." "Volume Down" available in Steam. Deck is stuck due to incompatibility with Type-C devices.
  • Updated the power LED to dim a few seconds after a power connection event for better effect. Experience in dark environments.
  • Improved compatibility with many Type-C docks and PSUs.
  • Improve battery life during idle or very low usage situations.
  • Improve stability.
  • Fixed some issues where the touch screen would not work after startup.
  • Fixed compatibility with some SD cards, especially when used as a boot device.
  • Fixed ACPI error overflow in kernel.

Here are the changes and improvements Valve has made in stable updates:

  • Added dual trackpad typing support to the on-screen keyboard.
  • Add game mode on-screen keyboard to desktop mode.
  • Add family sharing status to the game details page. Borrowers will see whose library they are borrowing from, and lenders will see a message if their library is currently being used by the borrower.
  • Added Calibration and Advanced Settings screens with the following options:
    • Adjust the dead zones for the left and right joysticks.
    • Adjust the tactile intensity of the left and right touchpads.
    • Joysticks and other sensors on external gamepads.
  • Updated the network connection process, no need to re-prompt to enter a known password to connect.
  • Improved the performance of downloading library images after logging in to reduce lag.
  • Removed display of overlay "B" back button in quick access menu.
  • Fixed an issue with on-screen keyboard input when connecting to a public WiFi captive portal.
