How to check nginx version in Linux

1. Check the nginx version number installed on the server, mainly through the -v or -V option of nginx. The viewing method is as shown in the figure below

-v display nginx version.

-V displays nginx version, compiler version and configuration parameters

[root@zq ~]#nginx -V

nginx version: nginx/1.16.1

built by gcc 4.8.5 20150623 (Red Hat 4.8.5-36) (GCC)

built with OpenSSL 1.0. 2k-fips 26 Jan 2017

TLS SNI support enabled

2. Use rpm -qa | grep nginx to check the nginx version

[root@zq ~]#rpm -qa | grep nginx

nginx-1.16.1-1.el7.ngx.x86_64

3. Use curl -i 127.0.0.1

[root @zq ~]#curl -i 127.0.0.1

HTTP/1.1 200 OK

Server: nginx/1.16.1

Date: Thu, 20 Feb 2020 01:56:15 GMT

Content-Type: text/html

Content-Length: 612
