CES 2022: Schlage launches Encode Plus Deadbolt with Apple Home Key functionality

Schlage today launched the Schlage Encode Plus Smart WiFi Deadbolt, the first smart lock in North America to support Apple’s Home Key system.

Encode Plus operates as a traditional “HomeKit” deadbolt, working over Wi-Fi without the need for a separate hub to integrate with the Home app on Apple platforms. However, as part of the ‌HomeKit‌ setup process, you can also choose to add a home key to the lock in the Wallet app.

With Apple's Home Button system, you don't need to unlock your ‌iPhone‌ or Apple Watch to unlock your door, and it supports Power Reserve so your ‌iPhone‌ can keep running long after its battery is drained. up to 5 hours.

This keypad deadbolt comes with physical key backup, so you can choose from multiple unlocking methods. Up to 100 access codes can be created to distribute to users who may need access to your home, and these codes can be scheduled to be valid only for specific times or revoked when no longer needed.

In addition to ‌HomeKit‌ and Apple Home key support, Encode Plus also features Google Assistant and Alexa support.

The Code Plus is priced at $299.99 and will be available this spring. It will come in two versions, the more traditional Camelot style and the more modern Century style, both available in a variety of colors.
