Different from general-purpose large language models, MedGPT focuses on providing actual diagnosis and treatment value in actual medical scenarios, and provides intelligent diagnosis and treatment capabilities for the entire process of disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. According to Wang Lei, director of the MedGPT project of the Medical Alliance, MedGPT guides patients through multiple rounds of consultations and collects sufficient diagnostic decision-making factors before giving accurate diagnostic results to ensure accuracy and consistency.

MedGPT is a 100B parameter scale model, pre-trained using more than 2 billion medical text data. In the fine-tuning training stage, it used 8 million pieces of high-quality structured clinical diagnosis and treatment data, and more than 100 doctors participated in manual feedback to supervise the fine-tuning training to improve the model's disease characteristic judgment and pattern recognition capabilities and ensure medical accuracy.

According to the editor’s understanding, Medical Alliance MedGPT is based on the Transformer architecture and can integrate multiple medical examination and detection modal capabilities to achieve a seamless connection from online consultation to medical examination. MedGPT will prescribe necessary medical examination items for the patient to further diagnose the disease, which will be performed after the consultation process. Patients can be examined through multi-modal capabilities such as Medical Alliance Cloud Examination. MedGPT can make accurate disease diagnosis based on valid consultation and medical examination data, and develop personalized treatment plans for patients.

MedGPT currently covers 60% of ICD10 diseases, and will focus on the development of multiple diseases in the near future to increase the penetration rate of digital hospitals. It is expected that by the end of 2023, MedGPT will be able to meet 80% of medical needs.
