Apple’s first AR/VR head-mounted display screen specifications exposed, peak brightness exceeds 5000nit
Apple is expected to release its first AR/VR headset at WWDC23. Ross Young, CEO of screen supply chain consulting company DSCC, shared more details of the headset screen.
Ross Young said that Apple’s first headset will be equipped with two 1.41-inch screens made of Micro OLED, 4000PPI. The resolution of each screen will also reach 4K, and the peak brightness will exceed 5000nit. With a brightness of approximately 5,000nit or higher, Apple’s AR/VR headset will support HDR content.
According to Ross Young, despite the peak brightness of 5000nit, it will not blind users, but will provide better contrast, brighter colors and better display effects than other headsets today.
