Mesa 23.1.1 released: Bug fixes and improved stability of the open source graphics driver

News on June 5th, Mesa version 23.1.1 was recently released. This is the latest Mesa The first maintenance update in the 23.1 open source graphics stack series. Mesa 23.1.1 includes a number of fixes for various open source graphics drivers, including improvements to using Mozilla on Fedora Linux 37 systems VA-API/H.264 issues when decoding the Firefox web browser and AMD Radeon RX 6600 graphics cards, and improvements for AMD Radeon RX 6600 VA-API video output on GPU and more.

According to the editor’s understanding, the Mesa 23.1.1 version has also improved support for multiple games. These include for Radeon Assassin's Creed Valhalla for Vulkan Driver (RADV), Rainbow Six Siege for Intel Vulkan Driver (ANV), Pixel Game Maker MV, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and Battlefield 1-5 for RADV’s AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPU.

In addition, Mesa 23.1.1 version also improves support for Unity’s “Enemies” technology demo on the RADV driver and improves GFXBench on the Android platform. 4 and 5 graphics benchmark suite support and improvements for the AMD Radeon R9 270X graphics card equipped with the RadeonSI driver, as well as various other minor bug fixes.
