Bing chatbot now supports voice questions on desktop
Microsoft is bringing Bing’s voice mode to the desktop version of Edge. With the update, users will now be able to use their personal voice to converse with Bing chatbots, and Bing chatbots will answer users in their own voices.
Similar to Edge on mobile, you can click the microphone icon on the Bing chat box and ask a question directly. Microsoft announced that their chatbot currently supports English, Japanese, French, German, and Mandarin. In addition, they are also developing support for other languages.
Microsoft plans to discontinue Cortana on Windows later this year while bringing voice mode to the desktop version of Bing Chat. While Cortana lets users use voice commands to set timers, create reminders, open apps, and more, Microsoft is now booting Bing and its AI-powered Copilot into Windows 11 as a more capable alternative.
