Split string into array using explode() function in PHP

php Split explode()

In PHP development, strings often need to be split into several substrings to make it more convenient for us to process data. At this time, PHP provides the explode() function to help us achieve this goal.

The basic syntax of the explode() function is:

explode(string $delimiter , string $string [, int $limit = PHP_MAXPATHLEN])
Copy after login

Among them, the $delimiter parameter represents the delimiter, the $string parameter is the string to be split, and the $limit parameter is optional and specifies the return array. the maximum length.

It should be noted that the $delimiter parameter can be either a string or an array containing multiple delimiters. When the $limit parameter is specified, the returned array will contain at most $limit elements. When the $limit parameter is a negative number, the complete segmentation result is returned.

Now, let’s look at a few examples.

Split the string into an array

Suppose there is the following string:

$str = "apple,banana,orange";
Copy after login

We now need to split the string into an array according to commas, which can be written like this:

$arr = explode(",", $str);
print_r($arr);
Copy after login

The results are as follows:

Array (
   [0] => apple
   [1] => banana
   [2] => orange
)
Copy after login

In the above code, we use comma as the delimiter to split the $str string into an array, and then use the print_r() function to output the contents of the array.

Split a string into an array (array separator)

Now, let’s look at another example. Suppose we have the following array:

$arr = array("apple#banana#orange", "lemon#grape#pear");
Copy after login

We need to use the "#" sign as the separator to split each element in the array into a sub-array. At this time, we can achieve it in the following way:

foreach ($arr as $str) {
   $subArr = explode("#", $str);
   print_r($subArr);
}
Copy after login

The above code will traverse each element in the array and split it into a new subarray. Then, the contents of each subarray are output through the print_r() function. The output result is:

Array (
   [0] => apple
   [1] => banana
   [2] => orange
)
Array (
   [0] => lemon
   [1] => grape
   [2] => pear
)
Copy after login

In the above example, we traversed each element of the array $arr through the foreach loop. Then, we use the explode() function to split each string and save the split results into a new array. Finally, we use the print_r() function to output each subarray.

Split with restrictions

Sometimes, we need to limit the number of elements returned by the array. For example, we have the following string:

$str = "apple,banana,orange,lemon,grape";
Copy after login

If we want to return only the first three elements in the array, we can write like this:

$arr = explode(",", $str, 3);
print_r($arr);
Copy after login

The result will be output:

Array (
   [0] => apple
   [1] => banana
   [2] => orange,lemon,grape
)
Copy after login

When the When the three parameters are positive integers, the explode() function returns the specified number of elements. Elements exceeding the specified number will be merged into one array element. When the third parameter is negative, the explode() function returns all but the last "$limit" elements.

In development, we often need to process strings, such as reading, writing, splitting and other operations. Using the explode() function, we can easily split the string into arrays, making it easier for us to manipulate data.

JWT is an open standard based on JSON, used to securely transmit information between parties, mainly for identity authentication and information exchange. 1. JWT consists of three parts: Header, Payload and Signature. 2. The working principle of JWT includes three steps: generating JWT, verifying JWT and parsing Payload. 3. When using JWT for authentication in PHP, JWT can be generated and verified, and user role and permission information can be included in advanced usage. 4. Common errors include signature verification failure, token expiration, and payload oversized. Debugging skills include using debugging tools and logging. 5. Performance optimization and best practices include using appropriate signature algorithms, setting validity periods reasonably,
