In iOS 17, Apple has added a handy little list feature to the Reminders app to help you when you're out to buy groceries. Read on to learn how to use it and shorten your trips to the store.
When you create a list using the new "Grocery" list type (called "Shopping" outside the U.S.), you can enter a variety of food and groceries and automatically sort them by category Organize them. This organization makes it easier to find what you need when you're at the grocery store or out shopping.
Category types available in alerts include Produce, Bread & Cereals, Frozen Foods, Snacks & Candy, Meat, Dairy, Eggs & Cheese, Bakery, Baking Supplies, Household Products, Personal Care & Wellness and Wine, beer and spirits.
Here’s how to create a shopping or grocery reminder list in iOS 17.
If the iPhone doesn’t recognize where an item should go, it remains in an uncategorized state. Note that it recognizes specific brands and types of food, such as "Sour Patch Kids," so it's a pretty capable grocery shopping solution.
You can also create your own categories in your shopping list. Just click the three dots in the circle icon and select "New Section" in the drop-down list. You can then click on the new section to give it an identifying name.
