Recently, China Southern Power Grid Guizhou Power Grid Company completed the distribution network drone mobile nest cluster operation in Panzhou City, Liupanshui.
The staff pressed the "UAV Cruise" button on the Machine Nest automatic inspection platform, which enabled three UAVs to take off at the same time and perform autonomous inspection tasks for three lines respectively. This is the first time that Guizhou Power Grid has used distribution network drones for mobile cluster operations to complete autonomous inspections of multiple lines.
At the scene, after the commander of the Liupanshui Power Supply Bureau’s Power Distribution Intelligent Operation Center issued the order, three drones took off from the apron at the same time. After reaching the set altitude, after fine-tuning the flight attitude, they flew in three different directions to perform autonomous inspection tasks for a total of 18 poles on three distribution lines.
In the meantime, the inspection picture is transmitted back in real time, without manual operation. In about 15 minutes, after completing the inspection mission, the drones returned to the take-off platform and obtained a total of 108 clear inspection pictures.
The successful test flight marks the UAV mobile nest cluster operation, which can realize all-round inspection of distribution network, no dead ends, fast speed and accurate positioning. In the next step, the bureau will accelerate the promotion of full coverage of autonomous drone inspections, further improve distribution network operation and maintenance capabilities, and continuously improve power supply reliability.
