In iOS 17, Apple has improved the Health app in several ways, including how medication notifications work. If you miss your prescribed dose, you can now get follow-up reminders to get you back on track. Here's how it works.

如何在iOS 17上获得跟进和重要用药提醒
Since iOS 16, Apple lets you enter all your prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, and vitamins so you can receive medication reminders, check for interactions, and more.

In iOS 17, Apple has taken this feature even further, adding "Follow-up Reminders" for any medications you track using the Health app. If you don't record your medication within 30 minutes of receiving the official notification, you can choose to receive a second notification so you don't miss a dose.

Not only can you get follow-up reminders, but you can also enable critical alerts that will appear on your iPhone screen and play a sound even if focus mode is enabled or the device is muted.

If you use the Health app to record your medications, here's how to enable follow-up medications in iOS 17.

  1. In the Health app, select the Browsetab and click Medicines.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the section and click "Options".
  3. Turn on the switch next to Follow-up Reminder.
  4. If you want to enable Severe Alerts for some or all medications, click "Severe Alerts".
  5. Turn on the switch next to the drug you want to send a severe alert for, and if you are sure, click Allow in the prompt.
