Developer releases third-party VR mod for Portal 2
(Nweon September 18, 2023) Are there any fans who like the "Portal" series? Thanks to a third-party VR Mod, you can now play Portal 2 in VR.
Gistix developers recently released the initial version 0.1.1 of the VR mod based on "Portal 2". This mod supports single player mode, related tools and motion controls. The game enables three degrees of freedom by default, and six degrees of freedom must be enabled in the configuration file (config.txt, 6DoF =true) in the VR folder
It should be noted that Gistix’s mod has not been approved by Valve and therefore cannot be released on Steam
It is reported that the project started in May. According to the description on Github, the VR mod still has certain problems: the in-game menu does not work properly, and proper six degrees of freedom and room scale need to be re-implemented.
