SK Hynix launches 16GB LPDDR5T: speed 9.6Gbps, equipped with vivo X100 / Pro

SK Hynix announced on November 13 that it will officially supply 16GB LPDDR5T products to customers. This is the fastest mobile DRAM product so far, capable of achieving a transmission speed of 9.6Gbps

According to reports, LPDDR (Low Power Double Data speed) is a DRAM specification used in mobile products such as smartphones and tablets. It is designed to minimize power consumption and has low-voltage operating characteristics.

This series of products is developed in the order of 1-2-3-4-4X-5. For example, LPDDR5X is the seventh-generation product, and LPDDR5T is an enhanced version of the seventh-generation LPDDR (5X). The eighth generation LPDDR6 is still on the way.

According to the International Semiconductor Standardization Organization (JEDEC) regulations, the 16 GB product of LPDDR5T can operate in the minimum voltage 1.01~1.12V standard range. The data processing speed is 77GB per second, which is equivalent to transferring 15 full HD movies per second.

SK Hynix has recently officially started supplying products to vivo. Vivo also announced that its latest smartphones, X100 and X100 Pro, will use SK Hynix’s latest memory kit
