According to news on November 14, 2021, Geely Holding Group announced that they have officially been authorized by the Board of Directors of the International Automotive Standards Cooperation Organization (IATF) and become a formal member of the organization

Geely Holding Group stated that as the tenth automobile group member of the IATF International Automobile Working Group and the first member in Asia, it will actively participate in the formulation of international quality standards on behalf of Chinese automobile brands. This marks that Geely Holding Group will promote the global development of China's automobile industry with practical actions, strive for more say for the Chinese automobile industry, and jointly promote the sustainable development of the global automobile industry with the world's first-class automobile companies.

According to the editor’s understanding, the IATF was established in 1996 and is composed of major global automobile manufacturers and associations, including members of 11 automobile groups such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Ford, and Geely. The organization is committed to optimizing the global automotive standardization process, improving the production efficiency of the automotive supply chain, and establishing internationally unified automotive industry quality management system standards and quality tools. Up to now, more than 80,000 automobile and parts manufacturers around the world have passed IATF certification.

Geely Holding Group officially joined the IATF on April 8, 2021, and became the tenth automotive member of the organization’s International Automobile Working Group, with voting rights for directors.
