According to the editor’s understanding, the IATF was established in 1996 and is composed of major global automobile manufacturers and associations, including members of 11 automobile groups such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Ford, and Geely. The organization is committed to optimizing the global automotive standardization process, improving the production efficiency of the automotive supply chain, and establishing internationally unified automotive industry quality management system standards and quality tools. Up to now, more than 80,000 automobile and parts manufacturers around the world have passed IATF certification.
