Microsoft today released Windows 11 preview Build 23419 to the Dev channel, which brings a series of new features, fixes and improvements.

Create a live kernel memory dump in Task Manager

Microsoft in Task Manager A new set of developer-focused features have been introduced to help collect live kernel memory dumps (LKD). This is in addition to the existing "memory dump" of user-mode processes. The goal of a kernel live dump is to collect data to troubleshoot anomalies but allow the operating system to continue running. This reduces downtime compared to bug checks for "non-fatal" but high-impact failures and hangs.

To use Live Kernel Memory Dump (LKD), go to the details page in Task Manager, right-click on the system process, the context menu should light up to say "Create Live Kernel Memory Dump File ” to obtain a complete live kernel or kernel stack memory dump.

The dump will be written to a fixed location:

%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows\TaskManager\LiveKernelDumps

When you right-click a process on the details page of Task Manager, select New Create Live Kernel Memory Dump File" option.

You can also go to the Task Manager Settings page to view/edit settings for live kernel memory dumps.

USB4 Settings Page

Microsoft is adding a USB4 Hub and device settings page for users under Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > USB > USB4 Hub & Devices. USB4 enables new productivity scenarios for docking stations, high-performance peripherals, displays and charging. The USB4 Settings page provides information about your system's USB4 capabilities and peripherals connected on USB4-enabled systems. These are designed to assist with troubleshooting if the user requires support from the equipment manufacturer (OEM) or system administrator. Functions provided on this page include:

View connected USB4 Hubs and device trees.

View the properties and capabilities associated with the USB4 domain.

Copy details to clipboard to share with customer support or system administrator for troubleshooting.

This page will not be displayed if your system does not support USB4 with Microsoft USB4 Connection Manager.

To confirm whether your system supports USB4, please check "USB4 Host Router" in Device Manager.

Cloud Suggestions in Simplified Chinese IME

Microsoft is trying out some changes to make it easier for users to enter popular words in Simplified Chinese. These changes include improved cloud suggestions and integrated search suggestions. The cloud suggests adding the most relevant words from Bing to the IME candidate window. Microsoft has updated the backend logic so that it can provide better and fresher suggestions.

Integrated search suggestions give you additional suggestions similar to what you see in the Bing search page. You can insert suggestions as text or search directly in Bing.
