Ubuntu File Permissions Guide: Learn how to set file permissions in Ubuntu

1. First, we use the ll command to list the file details of the current folder, as shown in the figure below. The first one is the permission content

2. Then let’s take a look at the meaning of the permission content. r represents read, w represents write, and x represents execution. As shown in the figure below

3. Next, we use the chmod command to grant rwx permissions to the owner, as shown in the figure below

4. Then set permissions for the people in the same group, as shown in the figure below, use the chmod command, the g after represents the people in the same group

5. NextIf chmod is followed by the letter o, it proves that the permissions are set for other people, as shown in the figure below

6. If you want to set permissions for three categories of people at the same time, you can separate them with commas, as shown in the figure below
