Share and modify Excel tables on your computer

I want a table in excel to realize the sharing function. For example, I modify this table on my computer

It seems that it is not set with the computer name, right? Instead, assign the user permission to edit the region.

principle:

Set passwords for the four areas A, B, C and D, and then notify each user individually, so that each user can only edit his or her own area.

set up:

1. Select all cells, right-click, Format Cells\Protect\Remove Locked Hooks. ——Clear the lock.

2. Select areas A, B, C and D, right-click to Format Cells\Protect\click the locked hook. ——Lock specific areas.

3. Set the password. Here we take area A (assumed to be A1:E200) as an example. Select area A, click Tools\Protect\Allow users to edit area\New\area password, and enter the password.

4. Repeat step 3 to set passwords for all areas. ——Set regional editing password

5. Click Protect\Protect Worksheet, enter the password in "Password to use when unprotecting the worksheet", and leave the rest as default. This is the most important step. If you forget it, all your efforts will be wasted. ——Protect locked cells.

At this point, all steps have been completed. Note that you must remember the password to protect your worksheet. Otherwise, you can only download cracking software to deal with it~~

Click the "Share Workbook" command in the "Tools" menu, then select the "Editing" tab, select the "Allow multiple users to edit at the same time and allow workbooks to be merged" check box, in the "Advanced" tab You can set the "automatic update interval", "inter-user revision conflict resolution" and "personal view properties". Under normal circumstances, each parameter in the "Advanced" tab can directly use the system default value, and then click Just click "OK". When prompted, save the workbook. Click Save As on the File menu and save the shared workbook in the shared folder. Then name each worksheet with the name of each department, such as "First Branch", "Second Branch", etc.

Cico Tips At this time, the word "share" will appear after the file name in the title bar, indicating that the shared workbook is set up successfully.

When operating, the worksheet of each branch must only be edited by the person in charge of the branch, and others only have read permission. Click "Tools → Protection → Allow users to edit areas", click the "New" button in the window that opens, and enter the "New Area" dialog box (as shown in the figure). Enter the user name in the "Title" box of the "New Range" form, click the button on the right side of the "Reference Cell" input box, and press the "Ctrl A" key combination to make the entire table range reference "=1: 65536" enter the input box. Enter the password in the "Region Password" box, press "OK" to pop up a confirmation window, re-enter the password, return to the "Allow users to edit regions" dialog box, and finally click the "OK" button. Different worksheets correspond to different users. Repeat the above steps to set the editing area and password for other worksheets.

If different parts of the same worksheet (such as certain rows or columns) also need to specify different users, just click the "New" button in the "Allow users to edit ranges" dialog box and follow the above steps to select the appropriate area.

Click the "Tools → Protection → Protect Worksheet" menu command to open the "Protect Worksheet" dialog box, enter the password in the "Password to use when unprotecting the worksheet" box, and then click "OK" .

If you do not perform this step, any user can open the "Allow users to edit area" dialog box to cancel or change the editing area that has just been set. If there are multiple worksheets in the workbook that need to set editing areas, we must set them separately to protect each worksheet. In addition, this step must be performed before setting up workbook sharing.

When each branch submits data, cancel the protection of the worksheet (select the "Tools → Protection → Unprotect Worksheet" menu command). After entering the password, you can edit in the worksheet to which you have permission. Only content can be viewed in other areas that are not authorized.

At this time, each department only needs to enter the shared folder, open the shared Excel file, and enter the worksheet named after the department to enter data. Each worksheet is completely transparent, and one department can view the latest improvement progress of other departments at the same time. You can check who is currently editing a shared workbook and use automatic updates to keep changes monitored. For a shared workbook in use, if you display the Shared Workbook dialog box (Tools menu's Shared Workbook command), all users who currently have the workbook open are listed in the Editing tab. Please use the "Updates" area of the "Advanced" tab to get regular updates (you can select the update frequency if needed).

Excel Overflow Range Operator (#) enables formulas to be automatically adjusted to accommodate changes in overflow range size. This feature is only available for Microsoft 365 Excel for Windows or Mac. Common functions such as UNIQUE, COUNTIF, and SORTBY can be used in conjunction with overflow range operators to generate dynamic sortable lists. The pound sign (#) in the Excel formula is also called the overflow range operator, which instructs the program to consider all results in the overflow range. Therefore, even if the overflow range increases or decreases, the formula containing # will automatically reflect this change. How to list and sort unique values in Microsoft Excel

Use formula conditional formatting to handle overflow arrays in Excel Direct formatting of overflow arrays in Excel can cause problems, especially when the data shape or size changes. Formula-based conditional formatting rules allow automatic formatting to be adjusted when data parameters change. Adding a dollar sign ($) before a column reference applies a rule to all rows in the data. In Excel, you can apply direct formatting to the values or background of a cell to make the spreadsheet easier to read. However, when an Excel formula returns a set of values (called overflow arrays), applying direct formatting will cause problems if the size or shape of the data changes. Suppose you have this spreadsheet with overflow results from the PIVOTBY formula,
