News on January 22, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology released an analysis report on the domestic mobile phone market operation in December 2023.

The report shows that from January to December 2023, the total mobile phone shipments in the domestic market totaled 289 million units, a year-on-year increase of 6.5%.

Among them, domestic brand mobile phone shipments accumulated to 231 million units, a year-on-year increase of 1.1%, accounting for 79.9% of mobile phone shipments during the same period.

Among them, 5G mobile phone shipments were 240 million units, a year-on-year increase of 11.9%, accounting for 82.8% of mobile phone shipments during the same period.

From January to December 2023, a total of 441 new models were launched, a year-on-year increase of 4.3%, including 214 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year decrease of 2.7%, accounting for 48.5% of the number of new mobile phone models launched during the same period.

From January to December 2023, smartphone shipments were 276 million units, a year-on-year increase of 4.8%, accounting for 95.6% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

From January to December 2023, a total of 356 new smartphone models were launched, a year-on-year increase of 1.4%, accounting for 80.7% of the number of new models launched during the same period.
