Cuisinart CPT-180 4-Slice Classic Metal Toaster Review

The Cuisinart 4-Slice Classic Metal Toaster demonstrates that it offers all the toasting power most people need without being too bulky. The Cuisinart 4-Slice Toaster combines the functions of two toasters, with independent blackout controls and the ability to toast two sets of bread at the same time. The design of this toaster makes baking more convenient and meets users' expectations for diverse baking needs.

I put this retro toaster to the test to evaluate how its looks matched its performance. Although there are some minor shortcomings, overall its performance is satisfactory.

The Cuisinart 4-Slice Classic Metal Toaster is listed on Amazon for $69, but is currently on sale for $53. It also comes in a variety of finishes, including brushed stainless steel, black stainless steel, metallic red, and white.

Cuisinart is elegantly designed with a retro-style stainless steel body with colorful accents on the front. We tested the Stainless Steel Black combo and it looks great in any kitchen. The dimensions are relatively modest at 11.15 inches wide, 7.5 inches high, 10.65 inches deep, and weighs 6.1 pounds. It has two separate controls for each set of two extra-wide 1.5-inch slots to accommodate bagels and other thick breads.

A simple carriage lever allows you to pull the bread into the baking mechanism, and it also lifts the bread above the baking slot so you don't burn your fingers when removing it afterwards. Each toasting mechanism has separate bagel, defrost, reheat and cancel buttons. When you press these buttons, they light up red to show the option you selected.

When your toast is done (no buzzer or alarm) - you just hear the toast popping up. The curtain control is a round, free-moving dial that sets settings from one to six, and also allows you to bake between settings. The convenient reheat feature lets you reheat bread that's been left in the toaster for too long to the right temperature without adding color to the toast.

One thing to note is that we found the Cuisinart's body to be a little warm to the touch, with external temperatures ranging from 80 to 97 degrees on the front and 81 to 116 degrees on the sides. While this temperature profile is typical of the medium setting of most toasters we test, the Cuisinart felt noticeably hotter—though not enough to hurt anyone.

Energy-wise, baking at full load for 2 minutes and 13 minutes consumed 0.059 kWh, which is average for a toaster with four separate slots.

CUISINART CPT-180 4-Slice Classic Metal Toaster: Performance

We were pleased with the toasting performance, which generally matched the tone control. Additionally, slicing toasts the bread evenly. The medium setting showed some grill marks, but both sides were identical—although we found the consistency was a little off, as one side generally seemed lighter than the other.

The performance of the bagel was similarly accurate with the shade that was heated on the back but not tinted. The defrost settings resulted in frozen waffles that were a bit light for our defrost tests at lower settings, but the toaster seemed more accurate when defrosting at higher settings, delivering nice dark waffles cake.

CUISINART CPT-180 4-Slice Classic Metal Toaster: Easy to Use and Clean

Despite its unconventional design, the Cuisinart Toaster is incredibly easy to use. There are two crumb trays at the bottom of the back of the unit – one for each individual toaster module – and they snap out easily so you can clean and rinse them before inserting them back into the toaster.

Unlike some other large-capacity toasters, the Cuisinart only has a two-prong grounding plug instead of a three-prong. Storage clamps underneath the toaster secure a fairly short 31-inch cord underneath the unit, allowing it to sit securely on the counter without wobbling.

If you have questions about operation, this manual comes with illustrations and detailed instructions for all the features this toaster offers.

The Cuisinart CPT-180 4-Slice Classic Metal Toaster ticks all the boxes when it comes to looks, performance, and functionality. If you are purchasing a four-slice toaster, the most convenient and versatile method is to be able to have individual settings for each set of two-slice toasters. Cuisinart does a great job in a relatively compact space.

Evaluation of Apple Pencil (USB-C): Is it easy to use? Evaluation of Apple Pencil (USB-C): Is it easy to use? Jan 31, 2024 am 09:51 AM

Apple’s latest $79 Apple Pencil (USB-C) is an affordable choice for iPad users. It inherits the flat design of the second-generation Apple Pencil, which sells for $129, and can be magnetically attached to the iPad for easy portability. However, to keep the price down, Apple removed some key features like pressure sensitivity and wireless charging. Still, if you just need a basic writing instrument, the USB-C Pencil is a great choice. It still has a premium writing experience and a precise nib that will satisfy most users. However, for artists and creators, they may want more features and higher performance. Therefore, they should consider purchasing the second generation A

Apple Pencil (1st generation) review, is it worth buying? Apple Pencil (1st generation) review, is it worth buying? Jan 31, 2024 am 10:21 AM

When we first reviewed the Apple Pencil in 2015, it was hailed as a breakthrough product: the best Bluetooth stylus we'd seen so far, designed specifically for the iPad Pro. More than two years later, the Pencil ($99; $89 for students) now works with the $329 sixth-generation iPad, but not much has changed. The stylus is still very useful for artists and professionals who do professional work on the iPad. However, it also has some quirks that become increasingly unsatisfying over time. While it's still the best stylus for the iPad and iPad Pro and our Editors' top pick, we'd like to see a

The RokidMax glasses ($439) offer a basic augmented reality experience, unlike rival TCLNXTWearS ($399) which offer full contextual information. It projects images in front of the eyes, similar to a face-mounted monitor, and offers motion-based functionality through a companion Android mobile app. Although the price is slightly higher, the RokidMax glasses have a wider field of view of 7 degrees. Additionally, they offer a diopter adjustment dial so that myopic users don't have to order separate prescription lens inserts, which is only available on the pricier VitureOne ($549) glasses. While the RokidMax glasses don't look like regular sunglasses, their wider field of view sets them apart. Design: functional, not

The ergonomic keyboard works perfectly with the mouse and monitor to create a space-saving desktop. These devices provide a more comfortable experience by positioning your wrists more naturally, resulting in a more ergonomic design than traditional straight keyboards. They're an excellent choice for those who spend a lot of time using a keyboard every day and want to reduce stress on their wrists. Best Overall Performance Logitech Ergo K860 The MX Ergo K860 is the leader in wireless workplace keyboards, incorporating much of the technology used in Logitech's vaunted wireless MXKeys keyboards. The split layout of this particular keyboard may present a slight learning curve for users who need to become smooth touch typists, but it's easily the most comfortable and stylish

SynologyDiskStationDS224+ is a network-attached storage (NAS) device designed for team collaboration in small office environments. It offers excellent performance and user-friendly interface, and has a library of more than 100 Synology and third-party applications. At $299.99, it's a great value for its speed and ease of use. However, compared to the more affordable Asustor AS1102T, the DS224+ lacks high-speed network capabilities and scalability. Design: LED on the front, Ethernet on the back The DS224+ is a network storage device with a matte black casing. It is equipped with a removable front panel for user-friendly maintenance and upgrades. This device uses no

ASUS ROG Delta S wireless review (Delta gaming headset has excellent sound quality) ASUS ROG Delta S wireless review (Delta gaming headset has excellent sound quality) Jan 30, 2024 pm 10:06 PM

The ASUS ROG Delta SA Nimate is one of the best gaming headsets on the market right now. It's a wired headphone compared to the ASUS ROG Delta SWireless, but it's equally as good in terms of comfort and sound quality, and has a wide range of compatibility. The headset adopts a plug-and-play connection method, which is very convenient, and has a battery life of up to 25 hours, making it very durable. Be warned, though, that its microphone can sound a little thin and it comes with relatively few software features. The ASUS ROG Delta SAnimate retails for $170. The Samsung Q990C is an excellent soundbar that offers all the benefits of the Q990B, our Editors' Choice winner for high-end soundbars last year. That's because the $1,899.99 Q990C is a nearly identical system that's completely untouched save for a few software tweaks and audio processing improvements. It still delivers immersive spatial audio with 11.1.4 channels including rear satellite and upward-firing drivers, powerful bass from the subwoofer, and built-in Apple AirPlay and Spotify Connect for seamless smartphone pairing. Still, the JBLBar1300X ($1,599.99) remains our Editors' Choice this year
