As of the end of February, the number of mobile phone users of the three major basic telecommunications companies and China Radio and Television reached 1.746 billion, of which 5G users accounted for 48.8%, and mobile Internet traffic reached 48.76 billion GB, a year-on-year increase of 16.6%.

Currently, the three major operators are collectively deploying in the direction of 5G-A.

China Mobile Chairman Yang Jie said that 5G-A is a step in the transition to 6G and will be deployed in more than 300 cities this year with an investment of about 1.5 billion yuan.

"The investment and deployment of 5G has three major characteristics, including high speed, low latency, and large connections. 6G will add three characteristics on the basis of the continuous improvement of the above three major characteristics, namely, integrated synaesthesia and intelligent computing. One, heaven and earth, and the investment in 5G-A will not increase significantly because it is based on 5G and is not a reinvention," Yang Jie said.
