Update log
Temporarily both channels receive the same version. When the canary channel and the development channel are on the same build (such as Build 26085), canary channel insiders can switch to the development channel. In the future, the canary channel will jump to a higher version and the window will be closed.
Changes and Improvements
We are relaunching the widget panel improvements that originally started with build 26058 for the Canary channel. The improvements include the introduction of a new navigation bar on the left, allowing users to switch between dedicated widget dashboards and other integrated dashboards. Give it a try and tell us what you think via the feedback button at the top of the panel.
Added a new navigation pane on the left to allow users to switch to my widget dashboard.
The complete widget experience from your favorite apps and services.
Feedback:
Please provide feedback via the Feedback Center (WIN F) in the desktop environment.
More SMB Protocol Changes:
From building 26085 and above, several Server Message Block (SMB) protocol changes related to Quic, signing, and encryption are introduced.
Other changes and improvements:
General: The build watermark in the lower right corner of the desktop is not present in this build and will be returned in a future internal preview build. This is part of Microsoft's normal process of preparing Windows 11, the 24H2 build, for release to customers later this year.
Co-Pilot: When logged into Windows using a local account, you can request help from Co-Pilot (in preview) up to ten times. After that, you have to use a Microsoft account or an Azure Active Directory account. To log in, use the link in the dialog box that appears in the copilot window.
Settings:
Redesigned Delivery Optimization Settings page, under Settings > Windows Update > Advanced Options, originally introduced in building 25987, has been Building 26085 was restored to its previous design.
Resolving known issues
[General]
Fixed an issue that caused video stuttering in some applications during the last flight (may affect FPS in some games) .
[Taskbar and System Tray]
Fixed explosive collision that was affecting taskbar reliability.
[File Manager]
Fixed an issue that caused some Insiders to accidentally view File Explorer using the previous design without tags in the latest build.
[Task Manager]
Fixed an issue where Task Manager would sometimes catch process processing and not stop when closing the app if you had Task Manager open process.
[Windowing]
Fixed a potential issue that in recent builds caused the bottom half of the second monitor to be unusable (the application window could not be maximized to this area).
Fixed a recent explosive collision that was occurring with some insiders when dragging windows.
Known Issues:
General: We are investigating reports that some Canary and Dev Channel insiders are stuck in build 26040 or build 23620. The investigation is still ongoing, but if you are affected by this and really want to get into the latest version of Canary or Dev channel today - you can download the latest ISO and do a clean install and select Canary or Dev channel during the installation process.
Co-Pilot: Voice Access does not reliably match the newer Co-Pilot experience in Windows, like a normal application.
Settings: The redesigned page originally introduced in building 25987 under Settings and Windows Update > Advanced Options > Delivery Optimization has been reverted to the previous one in building 26085 design.
