AI security company TrojAI receives additional seed funding

TrojAI, a Canadian AI security solutions provider, announced this week it has received $5.75 million in additional seed funding.

The enterprise AI security platform provided by TrojAI helps customers protect AI models and applications from risks and attacks. Its platform can test AI models before deployment and protect applications from issues such as sensitive data leakage, helping enterprises comply with benchmarks such as the OWASP AI Framework and privacy regulations.

Its main business modules are as follows:

  • AI model risk detection: TrojAI platform can be integrated with AI and MLOps workflows to automatically perform penetration testing and Scan AI models to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities such as backdoors, data leaks, and bias.
  • AI Application Protection: TrojAI platform protects AI applications from attacks such as data manipulation, hint injection, model poisoning, and denial of service.
  • Safe use of public AI services: Filter traffic in and out of the service through the AI ​​firewall, and use the AI ​​intelligent rule engine to block, edit and audit activities to achieve safe use of public AI services.

TrojAI is a program designed to leverage funding to support product development, sales and marketing efforts and expand U.S. operations with a new office in Boston.

This round of financing was led by existing investor Flying Fish, with participation from existing investors Build Ventures and Techstars, as well as new investors Alteryx Ventures and Flybridge Capital Partners.

In addition, TrojAI also announced the appointment of Lee Weiner as CEO. Prior to joining TrojAI, Weiner spent 11 years in senior roles at Rapid7, leading product, engineering and innovation, growing the company's revenue from $400 million to over $750 million. Previously, he held senior positions at LogMeIn, Symantec and Netegrity.
