甲骨文再买开源数据库 Sleepycat落入囊中_MySQL

天极网2月15日消息(戴寻严 编译)据外电报道，甲骨文公司周二宣布收购开源数据库厂商Sleepycat。这是继去年10月份收购芬兰Innobase后甲骨文后再次并购开源数据库公司。一向高调的甲骨文没有宣布收购金额，媒体据此分析支出不会太大。
Sleepycat是个私人控股公司，成立于1996年，其核心产品是开源数据库伯克利DB( Berkeley DB)。和甲骨文的数据库以及Innobase不同，伯克利DB主要面向嵌入式应用，因此与甲骨文的其他数据库产品形成很好的互补关系。
由于开源数据库MySQL一枝独秀，目前，IBM DB2、微软的SQL Server和甲骨文都推出了有一定限制条件的免费版数据库。而特立独行的甲骨文开始大举收购开源数据库。
业内分析人士认为，甲骨文收购开源数据库的目的是将其免费软件用户转化成收费数据库产品的用户，同时利用开源数据库相关技术完善自身产品。
此前，美国《商业周刊》曾报道，甲骨文计划耗资6亿美元收购三家开源软件公司，除去Sleepycat外，Zend和Jboss两家公司据悉正在和甲骨文作最后的讨价还价。(完)
