Hebei police intervened to investigate Li Auto MEGAs malicious attack by trolls

DoNews News on April 23, Caixin reported that Li Auto MEGA was maliciously attacked by cyber trolls when it was launched in early March. Recently, the police in Hengshui, Hebei Province are investigating the trolls involved. Companies and PR firms investigate.

It is understood that during the listing of Li Auto on MEGA, three to four car companies were suspected of participating in the suppression. Hengshui police conducted multiple inquiries, and a mid-level employee of Xpeng Motors is cooperating with the investigation. The employee's phone was unavailable and he could not be contacted to respond to messages.

On April 23, Xpeng Motors officially issued a relevant response:

We have noticed media reports about Xpeng Motors employees cooperating with the investigation. The explanation of this information is as follows:

1. Hebei police have recently launched an operation to crack down on cyber trolls, and Xiaopeng Motors is also actively cooperating with the police in its investigation of suppliers. This case is under investigation. Please do not believe or spread rumors and do not affect the public security organs’ investigation of the case.

2. Xiaopeng Motors strongly supports the police’s actions against cyber trolls. Since its launch, Xpeng X9 has also been widely attacked by cyber trolls, with more than 5,000 related negative reports.

In response to this type of cyberattack, Xiaopeng Motors has collected evidence and reported the case to the public security agency, which has now accepted it. If there is updated information, we will promptly disclose it to the public.
