北京时间4月28日上午消息，据国外媒体报道，PHP语言的创始人雷斯莫斯·勒道夫(Rasmus Lerdorf)近日加盟团体支付新兴公司WePay，领导该网站的应用程序接口(API)的研发工作。
WePay的平台用于便利团体支付情况，例如公司常常要向众多员工支付工资。WePay创始人比尔·克莱里科(BillClerico)表示目前为止该服务在各种联谊会中最受欢迎，经常需要分担费用的室友也注意到这种服务。他透露，该网站推出的一个月以来，每个星期的交易量都增长50%。
WePay最近也推出了一个订票功能，但是不如订票网站Eventbrite般正式。克莱里科称联谊会可以使用该功能向会员售票，俱乐部也可以使用这个功能销售特别活动的门票。
WePay得到了许多知名投资公司和个人投资者的注资，包括创业孵化公司Y Combinator、天使投资人Dave McClure等。
