"A wide area network is a long-distance network that connects local area networks or metropolitan area network computer communications in different areas. It can connect multiple regions, cities and countries, or span several continents and provide long-distance communications. A wide area network is not the same as the Internet , need to be connected through a router. If there are multiple branches connected through dedicated lines, it is called a "Wide Area Network".
