Technically, you cannot return multiple values. However, there are ways to work around this limitation. The most similar way to return multiple values ​​is to use the list keyword:

function getXYZ()
{
    return array(4,5,6);
}

list($x,$y,$z) = getXYZ();

// Afterwards: $x == 4 && $y == 5 && $z == 6
